Having played more semi-finals and finals than any other team, New Zealand got the upper hand in total wins (3 cups), as well. The team managed to win almost each final, missing only of them. Australia and South Africa seem to be formidable opponents at an almost equal number of victories—2 wins. While the latter lags a bit behind in both semi-finals and finals played, it has become the only national team which never lost a final game.
Among the rest, England is the only national team with a trophy, despite remaining behind France in total number of semi-finals, 6 vs. 4. While France made it to semi-finals and finals almost as often as the leader did, it failed to win any of them, becoming the only challenger without a win.
The performance of other teams was far less impressive, with none of them being able to make it out of semi-finals. Of these, Scotland ranks last with only 1 semi-final, just 1 less than that of Wales and Argentina.
Overall, the New Zealand rugby team has prevailed more often than others have, with Australia and South Africa not far behind.
