Bahsedilmesi gereken detaylar:
- 2021'te harcanması gereken süre her yerde artmış, Singapur hariç
- Hong Kong ve Paris'te süre hep daha uzun olmuş
- Bazı şehirlerde süre hala görece kısa, ama orantısal artış oldukça fazla
- Zürih ve New York'ta artış yok denecek kadar az
The chart compares the amount of time spent by average-skilled employees to buy an apartment in 10 different cities, taking the prices in both 2011 and 2021 into consideration.
Excluding Singapore, there seems to a rise in each city as of 2021, with the largest figures recorded in Hong Kong and Paris at 20 and 17 years, respectively. In both these cities, an identical amount of time was spent in 2011 to buy an apartment (15 years), about a year lower than the then-leader, Singapore. Singapore fell to the fifth rank in 2021 with a drop of 3 years, matching the duration in Tokyo, 13 years, a year behind London.
Proportionally speaking, the greatest increases took place in some of the cities where an employee could own a house in less than 10 years, particularly Munich, Sydney, and Frankfurt. In 2021, employees over there had to spend almost double the time for an apartment, with Munich in the lead at almost 10 years. In 2011, Frankfurt was the only city to require less than 5 years of work, 4 times lower the amount in Singapore.
The rise in New York and Zurich was rather limited at just one year. As of 2021, Zurich became one of the two most ideal cities for apartment ownership at just 7 years, as in Frankfurt.
Overall, it has become harder for almost all averaged-skilled employees to own an apartment close to the center, with those in Hong Kong and Paris having to spend far more time to do so.
